*This position will support the Denver Endoscopy Centers, so qualified candidate must have experience with GI HLD.

Summary of Duties: The GI/Sterile Processing Lead is experienced in all aspects of sterile processing. The Lead is knowledgeable regarding instrumentation, equipment, and supply needs for all types of surgical procedures. The Lead is accountable for promoting high levels of employee, patient, and physician satisfaction, and promotes optimal patient outcomes, while maintaining appropriate productivity standards.
· Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
When necessary, provides guidance for the processing, handling and storage of sterile instruments and equipment
Provides support for the sterilization of instrumentation and assembly of surgical trays and supplies as needed specifically for GI procedures
When necessary, operates equipment in the sterile processing department as well as at other single and multi-specialty surgery centers
Applies critical thinking and sterile processing knowledge of infection control principals, aseptic practice and sterilization and disinfection practices as required
Monitors the quality of sterile processing practices following statutory/regulatory requirements, AORN, AAAHC, and ANSI/AAMI ST79 guidelines.
Fiscal responsibility for assisting surgery center leadership in budgeting for surgical instruments and operating within budgetary constraints
Bachelor's degree desired and/or relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree
Five or more years of experience in sterile processing including 3-years in a management/supervisory role and/or supply chain management. Must have experience with GI HLD.
C. Special Qualifications:
License or certification in sterile processing through IAHCSMM/CBSPD, Certified Flexible Endoscopic Reprocessing Certification (CFER), or a related certification(s) required.
