Description
The Senior Manager of Facilities & Maintenance works as an integral part of our Distribution Center (DC) leadership team to manage all aspects of multi-site DC maintenance functions including, but not limited to, material handling systems, lift truck equipment, facility repair and upkeep, preventative maintenance software systems, parts inventory, contractual negotiations and project/vendor management. They also serve as a core member of the Facilities & Maintenance network leadership team by actively collaborating with network peers and corporate partners.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Equipment Maintenance: Provide functional direction for all equipment break-down and preventative maintenance. Oversee equipment repairs across shifts and respond to operational production and maintenance needs to ensure goals and objectives are met in a timely and professional manner. Evaluate downtime data, operating procedures, equipment capabilities and capacities, and validate repairs or authorized modifications or changes that achieve an efficiency improvement or operating cost reduction. Manage the maintenance and repair of all Distribution Center equipment including, but not limited to, sorters, conveyors, pick modules and other Material Handling Equipment (MHE), Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) and truck yard equipment (tractors, trailers, etc).
- Facilities & Utilities Maintenance: Janitorial services, physical building maintenance and repair, premisies upkeep, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire and security systems, refuse/recycling programs.
- Parts & CMMS: Possess extensive knowledge of the DC layout and flow of product while ensuring availability of an optimum supply of repair parts. Utilize a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to manage predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance priorities, inventory and reporting.
- Contractor/Vendor/Inspector Liaison: Contract, negotiate and/or manage relationships with external vendors, contractors, supply representatives and inspectors/governmental officials as needed. Maintain a high level of collaboration with peers, DC leadership and corporate business partners.
- Manage the Facilities & Maintenance Department: Ensure that departmental resources, including staff, budget, spaces, equipment and supplies are available and capable of achieving the department's purpose, responsibilities and goals. Provide guidance and direction to department manager(s) and various levels of maintenance technicians in the areas of safety, service, performance and functional expertise to include, but not limited to, electrical, mechanical, conveyor repair and lift truck systems. Create a positive working environment and associate engagement while managing performance and developing talent.

- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 10+ years' experience as a maintenance or construction supervisor/manager experience with emphasis on distribution center automation and powered industrial lift trucks
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills both in person and digitally.

- Demonstrated responsibility and accountability
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills are required; proven track record of success
- Ability to develop teams and manage a budget around existing or new facility needs
- Safety training and compliance, OHSA 10 hour or equivalent, Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO)
Physical Requirements
- Maintain industrial machines, moving furniture and equipment, and extensive use of hand and power tools
- Requires incumbent to stand, walk, bend, squat climb, kneel, twist and work at heights on an intermittent basis for eight hours a day
- Hand manipulation including simple grasping, power grasping, pushing and pulling of materials and fine manipulation
- Reach and work above and below the shoulder level is frequently performed on a continuous basis for as many as five hours a day
- Lift and carry items weighing 25lbs or less on a frequent basis throughout the day
- Lift and carry items weighing 25 - 75lbs pounds on an intermittent basis throughout the work week
- Drive automobiles, forklifts and scissor lifts
- Work with hazardous machinery and power tools on a regular basis
- Perform tasks while using a ladder up to fifteen feet in elevation above floor surface

The anticipated salary range for this position is $146,000 – $167,900 depending on location, knowledge, skills, education and experience. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition, we offer comprehensive and competitive benefits to Associates (and their families) such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability. Eligible Associates are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan. Associates will accrue paid time off up to 120 hours per year and paid sick time up to 80 hours per year unless otherwise required by law. The Company observes two (2) Company paid holidays. Associates earn up to 64 hours as additional Floating Holidays.
