Description
The Production Designer will work in the Design Department of the Harbor Freight internal creative agency. The Production Designer is responsible for executing assigned graphic production projects in digital and print marketing channels. Projects include production for digital advertising campaigns in both static and animated formats, web banners, coupons, store signage, and more. All design assets must adhere to the Harbor Freight visual brand guidelines. The Production Designer works closely with their manager and digital designers to create final deliverables.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive approved artwork and produce digital ads in a variety of sizes and formats using Adobe XD or Figma for web, paid digital, social media, app and e-mail.
- Retouch photos with Photoshop and build templated digital ads for new store openings.
- Able to edit and render simple After Effects animations is a plus (or willing to train)
- Make edits/corrections to layouts as deemed necessary by proof readers and design managers
- Other assignments may include producing coupons, flyers, or in-store event signage.
- Adhere to the Harbor Freight Tools design style set by senior management and executives
- Review, prioritize and mark off assignments in the project management tool.
- Apply established corporate branding and style specifications to ensure work meets brand guidelines
- Regularly communicate status of assigned projects to manager
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with team members and business associates

Requirements
Education and Experience
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 2 years of graphic design training required
- Minimum of 2 years of hands on graphic design production experience required
- Good productivity and high-quality work
- Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities
- Position may be required to work beyond normal scheduled work hours as necessitated by business
- Thorough knowledge of Macintosh Desktop Computer and Adobe Creative Suite is required
- Must be quick, efficient, skilled in design software and able to successfully juggle multiple projects and timelines
- Must have good eye for type, style and detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; solid command of English language
- Sense of urgency and ability to work under pressure
- Creative flair with ability to conceptualize and visualize finished product
- Able to work effectively as a team member
- Ability to work seated for long periods of time and maintain concentration and accuracy.
