Description

The Manager, Communications leads a team that works collaboratively with cross-functional partners to strategize, draft, edit, and share communications that reflect the company's values and align with the long-term vision and brand.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drives internal communication plans and serves as author and editor of communication materials such as company-wide announcements, messages from leadership, Associate testimonials, newsletters, email announcements, intranet content, and presentation talking points.
  • Leads and develops a high-performance team of communication professionals and provides ongoing feedback and direction. Is accountable for and serves as editor and reviewer of the team's content to ensure accuracy, voice and tone, and effective messaging.
  • Develops and partners with an internal network of representatives across all departments to gatekeep and generate timely news and information to be disseminated enterprise-wide and reflected externally as needed. This also includes in-person visits and interactions with frontline teams across each part of the business to better understand different audiences and how best to tailor messaging to each.
  • Determines appropriate technology for delivering effective communications. Determines, analyzes, and reports on communication KPIs and uses these indicators to form insights that drive continuous improvement.
  • Partners with Manager, Employment Brand to ensure consistency in communication across the greater team.

Requirements

Education and Experience
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Writing, English, Marketing, Public Relations, Human Resources, Business or other related field of study preferred.
Years of Experience
  • 7+ years' experience in the Communications field required.
  • 5+ years' experience in managing internal communications required.
  • 3+ years' experience as a people leader, leadership experience in a communications role highly desired.
Skills
  • Superlative writing, editing, and presentation skills
  • Detail-oriented and excellent strategic organization skills.
  • Comfortable with giving and receiving feedback and working in a collaborative editing process.
  • Possesses the curiosity and drive to stay current on industry trends and insights.
  • Excellent people leadership skills. Including the ability to interview, hire and train the communications team, and conduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite and other related software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Corporate - Remote - General office environment requiring ability to:
  • Stand, walk, sit for extended periods of time .
  • Speak and listen to others in person and over the phone and video conferencing.
  • Use keyboard and read from computer screen and reports.
  • The ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
