Description

The Business Analyst partners with our development teams to deliver functional system enhancements that drive efficiency and optimization of our supply chain applications.
The IT Business Analyst is responsible for business and systems analysis functions supporting systems software and technologies within the scope of the Supply Chain team. This role includes applying proven analytical, communication and problem-solving skills to help maximize the benefit of IT investments and turn functional business requirements into effective design solutions. This includes gathering and analyzing data in support of business cases, proposed and approved projects, and supporting the resolution of production issues stemming from DC operations or project work.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project managers, solutions architects and project sponsors to determine project scope and how to execute multiple projects.
  • Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business requirements, and systems goals, and identify and resolve systems issues.
  • Document functional business requirement and interpret into system designs.
  • Analyze and determine root-cause for reported system issues
  • Conduct research into on emerging application development software products, languages, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
  • Utilize standard templates to accurately and concisely write requirement and functional specifications.
  • Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
  • Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential problem areas in IT systems across the organization.
  • Collaborate in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications, and enhancements to existing applications.
  • Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including system, integration, and customer acceptance, for modified and new systems, and other post-implementation support.
  • Manage and track the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle; enforce and redefine as necessary.

Requirements

Education Preferred
  • Bachelors in computer science, supply chain or related field preferred. 
Skills (Required)
  • Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle methodologies as adopted by the organization.
  • Flexible and adaptable in regards to learning and understanding new technologies.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to conduct research into software-related issues and products.

  • Savvy with supply chain technologies (MHE, RF, Wireless connectivity, etc)
  • Sense of urgency and focus on supporting on-time/on-budget delivery
  • Commitment to demanding work schedule
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of safety policies, procedures, and rules related to all work areas and/or process
Experience (Preferred)
  • 3-5 years' experience in supply chain systems implementations WMOS version 2013 or later required.
  • Proficient in MS office suites, MS Project and Visio preferred.
  • Experience with SharePoint and JIRA a plus.
  • Knowledge of Manhattan WMOS suite a plus
  • Ideal background includes national, multi-unit retailers with multiple warehouse operations, such as department stores, mass merchants, or other general merchandise retailers
  • Hard line experience is preferred.
  • Experience directly and indirectly managing project resources and direct reporting relationships
 

The anticipated salary range for this position is $68,800–$103,200 depending on location, knowledge, skills, education and experience. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition, we offer comprehensive and competitive benefits to Associates (and their families) such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability. Eligible Associates are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan. Associates will accrue paid time off up to 236 hours per year (inclusive of PTO, floating holidays, and paid holidays). Paid sick time up to 80 hours per year unless otherwise required by law.
