Description

The Human Resources Coordinator supports the day-to-day administration of HR functions and operations. This role assists the Sr. Human Resources Manager(s) and on-site department leaders with a variety of HR-related matters, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures, as well as compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. The HR Coordinator also plays a key role in promoting a Best Place to Work by championing HFT's People First values, demonstrating integrity in all HR practices, and contributing to a workplace environment built on trust, respect, and collaboration.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Welcome new associates to the organization by facilitating new hire orientation and reviewing new hire paperwork             
  • Thorough understanding of HFT's policies and procedures with the ability to communicate them to DC associates and managers. Apply policy and procedures where appropriate and under the supervision of the Sr. HR Manager         
  • Provide general Human Resources support by serving as one of the first points of contact for associates, managing or escalating issues as necessary while maintaining discretion and confidentiality       
  • Assist with various research projects and/or special projects as assigned       
  • Assist with exit interviews           
  • Assist with investigations and addressing associate relations matters
  • Facilitate benefits open enrollment and associate engagement surveys       
  • Prepare and process weekly payroll for Company/Agency associates    
  • Maintain and tracks HR data and metrics         
  • Report generation and auditing/tracking maintenance      
  • Assist with Leave of Absence related matters
  • Supports the administration and coordination of associate HR files adhering to company-wide policies and procedures  
  • Accurately maintain HRIS database systems 
  • Organizes and maintains confidential files and records      
  • Process changes in associate status including associate transfers, wage changes and associate personal information updates   
  • Tracking promotions, transfers, and other role changes      
  • Maintain corrective actions and separation processing      
  • Provide assistance using independent judgment to determine which require priority attention; and facilitate communication            
  • Ability to handle confidential matters and act discreetly with solid judgment when screening incoming communications

Requirements

Education and Experience

Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college education a plus

Years of Experience
  • 2 years of HR or equivalent experience in a DC or manufacturing environment with significant non-exempt populations preferred

Skills
  • Experience in HR practices and procedures with strong customer service
  • Highly proficient in computer use and data entry is essential; Microsoft Office knowledge – Word, Excel, Access and Outlook
  • Experience with HRIS and Payroll systems
  • Must have superior communication skills (written and oral) with a team player attitude
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrate a high level of trust, confidentiality, good judgment and collaboration.
  • Sense of urgency
  • Strong time management and follow up skills

Physical Requirements
  • Standing, walking, climbing, bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and reaching heights on an intermittent basis for up to twelve hours per day.
  • Grasping, pushing, and pulling of materials on an intermittent basis for up to twelve hours per day.
  • Reaching and working above and below the shoulder level on an intermittent basis for up to twelve hours per day.
  • Ability to safely team lift, lower, and move items over 75 pounds over the course of a workday with or without assistance.
  • Sit or stand continuously for up to twelve hours per day.
  • Must be comfortable working with and around forklifts, conveyer systems, scissor lifts, and hazardous machinery.
  • Must be comfortable with performing many of the tasks listed above from a ladder up to fifteen feet in elevation above the floor surface observing safety controls.
  • Must utilize proper safety controls at all times. *Must be able to drive automobiles, forklifts and scissor lifts.

The anticipated rate for this position is $25.11 - $31.39 per hour, depending on location, knowledge, skills, education, and experience. In addition, we offer comprehensive and competitive benefits to Associates (and their families) such as early access to pay, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability. Eligible Associates are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan.   Associates will accrue paid time off up to 152 hours per year (inclusive of PTO, floating holidays, and paid holidays). Paid sick time up to 64 hours per year unless otherwise required by law.
