District Lead Post Secondary Counselor for the South West (Socal/AZ)
Position Summary: The District Lead Post-Secondary Counselor is a full-time leadership role on the nationwide team of Fusion Academy Post-Secondary Counselors. This position supports campuses in the San Diego, Orange County, and Arizona markets and reports to the Post-Secondary Counselor (PSC) West Manager. Salary Range: $60-70k with annual bonus potential. Pay will vary based on location, skills, and experience. Yes, they receive EPIC! Bonus

Responsibilities:
· Provide a dynamic virtual 1:1 teaching and counseling experience to students via credit-bearing post-secondary preparation courses, and non-credit-bearing post-secondary counseling enrichment packages.
· Mentor students in exploring post-secondary options; 4-year college or university, 2-year junior or community college, gap year, vocational and tech or trade schools, apprenticeships, military, or direct-to-career and more!
· Navigate and utilize college and career readiness tools like SCOIR, YouScience to identify student aptitudes, interests, abilities, and link them to their future goals.
· Read, analyze, and interpret transcripts, GPAs, and other academic records to make recommendations and provide guidance for college or university prospects.
· For College Bound students, provide comprehensive support through the college application and admissions process, standardized test preparation plans, developing personal statements and supplemental essays, assist in distributing financial planning resources as needed, and more! Craft detailed counselor letters of recommendation and successfully navigate the college application materials submission process for students on your active roster.
· For non-college-bound students, assist with resume building, interview techniques, career preparation, developing professional presence, and collaborate with campus teams to support a smooth transition after graduation.
· Collaborate with the Nationwide Post Secondary Counseling team, supporting over 80 Fusion Academy campuses across the country and Fusion Global Academy.
· Annual PSC Consultations and Outreach: Manage annual PSC consultation opportunities (outreach and execution) for all full-time families in the district annually.
· Collaborate with district campuses to organize unique college and career events, virtual or in-person college and career fairs, virtual PSC webinars, and local college and university tours.
· Develop and maintain a calendar of PSC-related opportunities accessible to all district campuses.
· Connect with campus leadership to address specific campus needs and ensure stakeholder satisfaction.
· Participate in monthly meeting rhythms and 1:1s with the PSC Manager.
· Engage in district & national calls, contributing to district-wide strategies and initiatives specific to PSC.
Preferred Qualifications and Certifications:
· Licensed School Counselors or former higher education professionals who lead with their hearts and provide students with the personalized support they need to pursue their dreams.
· 5+ years of experience in Post Secondary Counseling, School Leadership, College and Career Readiness, Educational Consulting, or Higher Ed and Admissions Counseling.
· Advanced Degree (MA, MS, MEd, or higher) in School Counseling, Educational Psychology, Education, Mental Health Counseling, or related field. License in Professional School Counseling and/ or College Counseling Certificate
· Experience and comprehensive understanding of Common App/ UC/ CSU/ Texas Apply.
· Strong intrapersonal skills, and able to conduct consultations with parents & families in which you work through student issues and act as an advocate for our college and post-secondary program.
· Fusion PSCs must have comprehensive knowledge of the college admissions process and experience guiding students through the complex college search and admissions process.
· Candidates will have knowledge of alternative post-secondary options such as vocational, apprenticeships, or gap year programs, and be able to support students in preparing for the workforce or finding internship opportunities.
· Candidates need to have an innate passion for nurturing and supporting adolescents.
· Experience with Neurodivergent Students with Learning Disabilities is a plus.
