Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a/an Structural Paint Lead located in USA, Fontana Ca.

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Structural Paint Lead is responsible for leading a team of employees in completing assigned manufacturing projects.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Oversees the work of assigned team employees
  • Addresses minor discipline problems with team members; refers more serious cases to the supervisor
  • Assists with the planning and preparation of training and orientation for new team members in partnership with the training specialist and team trainer
  • Collaborates with team members to discuss upcoming work assignments; delegates assignments based on team members skills and experience
  • Assists team members with technical issues or advanced problems with given assignments
  • Applies paint, stains, varnishes, enamels, and other coatings to metal and steel surfaces with brushes, rollers, or other tools
  • Prepares surfaces for painting: fills cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers using caulking guns or putty knives; smooth surfaces using sandpaper, scrapers, brushes, steel wool, or sanding machines
  • Applies primers or seals to prepare new surfaces, such as bare wood or metal, finish coats
  • Covers surfaces with drop clothes or masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting
  • Read work orders and blueprints to determine work requirements
  • Calculates amounts of required materials and estimate costs, based on surface measurements and/or work orders
  • Maintains a clean work area
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2-4 years of previous experience in a related field
  • Previous experience working in a fabrication shop preferred.
  • Prior experience in effectively leading a team of employees
  • Excellent knowledge of painting material and how to select, mix, and apply them
  • Solid knowledge of painting techniques and the use of appropriate tools (brushes, rollers, caulking guns, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and provide consistent work.

Pay Range (Applicable to California) $20.70 USD - $28.46 USD Hourly Job Category Operations
