Job Summary

We are looking for a new Senior Material Planner employee to be based in Cork (Ireland).

Summary:

The role will be in charge of maintaining materials/planning data, supply data and information to other production departments, coordinate MPS Forecasts, generate Production Build Plans for SMT and Box Build production and have some experience in Planning systems coupled with some IT knowledge and experience.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Load MPS (Master Production Schedule) with customer forecast demand each month to forecast horizon.
  • Run MRP checks daily to ensure MPS/MPR accuracy in our system.
  • Generate SMT production monthly / weekly / daily Build plans.
  • Review reports (Planning / Purchasing / inventory) with customers when required by conference calls / meetings.
  • Manage customer production orders SMT / Backend box build.
  • Align production orders to the MPS demand forecast.
  • Oversee multiple production order changes due to customer changes, inventory shortfall and ECO changes.
  • Release production orders to the warehouse for kitting and transfer to the production floor.
  • Generate CTB (Clean to Build) files for planning /purchasing to review and action.
  • Co-ordinate customer product shipments with Customer Services Group.
  • Generating sales orders for raw material shipments when the need occurs.
  • Reviewing customer E&O inventory and generate appropriate reports for same.
  • Generate weekly MRB reports by customer.

IT Experience

  • Report development - to include SQL (MSSQL) and SSRS activities. Doesn't have to be limited to planning reports
  • Excel development. Includes macro type development, although preference is to not use macros and move to newer VSTO standard. May require additional upskilling/training.
  • Custom application development - in case a standalone application is the best option to solve whatever the specific problem is. May require additional upskilling/training.
  • Functional owner to drive improvements
    • Preactor replacement. Scheduling / planning tool.
    • Planning SME and SPOC to liaise with IT. Would be responsible for working with IT to implement/develop any solutions that cannot be handled within dept. Would own the creation of design and dev docs that IT need to complete development.
    • Any other planning process improvement opportunities.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in materials or related field.
  • Strong Excel skills
  • A background in electronics manufacturing is desired.
  • Eligibility to work in Ireland (EU).
