Job Summary

To support our extraordinary team who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a/an  The Quality Assurance (QA) Manager located in  Garland TX

The Quality Assurance (QA) Manager is responsible for the oversight, ownership, and effectiveness of the company's Quality Management System (QMS) while maintaining a close relationship with production to identify, solve, and prevent problems affecting quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees, sustains, and improves total quality system in accordance with industry standards, ISO 9001 standards, and customer requirements.
  • Lead annual ISO-9001 audits with external auditors as well as perform all functions necessary to maintain Crown's ISO certification.
  • Lead customer QA Audits both at CA and TX facilities, as necessary.
  • Develops, implements, and manages QA policies, processes, manuals, and techniques to ensure that products meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability prior to delivery.
  • Provides leadership in identifying opportunities and processes to improve the quality culture.
  • Communicates quality standards and parameters to QC team, operations team, and other appropriate departments.
  • Participates in continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities, analyzing quality failures, and recommending changes to improve quality metrics and production KPIs.
  • Participates in the daily management walks with operations team; provides value-added insights and support during department report-outs.
  • Identifies and analyzes recurring issues, defects, and other problems in manufacturing processes and manufactured parts; recommends and facilitates solutions to these issues.
  • Administers the full-cycle Corrective Action Report (CAR) process; facilitates improvements with department leaders.
  • Perform root cause analysis for process related concerns and assist with the development of training requirements based on the analysis results to build employee quality awareness.
  • Reviews client, customer, and user feedback; address customer inquiries pertaining to quality control.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 standards, quality assurance concepts, methods, and techniques.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to serve as a liaison with customers, auditors, production managers, project managers, and the quality department.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to complete reports and logs.

Experience/Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or field related to the products being developed required; experience may be substituted for education
  • At least 5 years of experience in an ISO-9001 certified company.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a management role and effectively leading a team of employees.
  • Experience in the following disciplines is a plus: mechanical assembly, metal fabrication, and electrical wiring.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Experience/Education:

  • Associates degree in related field, or equivalent industry work experience required; Bachelors degree in Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
  • At least 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a supervisory capacity.
