Job Summary

To contribute to our efforts and support the teams that build great products, we are looking for a SMT Process Engineer, located at Guadalajara North Campus.

Reporting to the Process Manager, this role is responsible for supervising critical SMT processes, ensuring the correct execution of production plans, and leading the technical team to meet quality, cost, delivery, and continuous improvement objectives.

What a typical day looks like:

•     Supervise technical activities in SMT processes and coordinate the team.

•     Develop and optimize programs for DEK, SPI, Camalot, and Press Fit equipment.

•     Analyze and validate stencils; perform SPI debug and P&P failure analysis.

•     Develop reflow profiles as well as instrumentation of profiling boards.           

•     Create procedures, visual aids, and technical presentations.

•     Perform capacity calculations, rates per station and identify bottlenecks in the process.

•     Document and implement continuous improvement actions and Kaizen events.

•     Establish Manufacturing process and manage process that are designed according to customer specifications.

•     Work on the continuous improvement to increase yield, scrap reduction and cycle time.

•     Should be able to troubleshoot PCB Assembly process issues.

•     Should be able to make CPK Study before delivering solder paste processes.

•     Design & develop tools, jigs, fixtures and drive the incoming and until it is implemented on the production line.

•     Development of proper documentation and manufacturing process according to customer specifications.

•     Recognize the manufacturing process, technologies, techniques and product specifications.

•     Define, implement and evaluate proposed designs and processes for manufacturability.

•     Have the capability to work with other engineers to identify root causes of failures in the manufacturing process.

•     High level participation in daily production activities and effective problem solving on daily issues.

•     Prepare purchase justification for the acquisition of capital equipment.

•     Analysis and execution of engineering changes.

•     Parameter characterization to ensure robustness and repeatability process.

•     Take ownership to develop, implement new process control methodologies.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

Engineering degree

Experience in SMT, PTH, and Backend processes, SPI, edge bonding, and smart torque system

Knowledge of stencil design, reflow profiling, tooling/fixture design, and pallet validation.

Familiarity with IPC‑A‑610, CPK calculations, CAD/Gerber files, and MS Office.

Previous experience supervising and developing technical personnel.

Experience with production control systems (serial control, flows, traceability).
