The “Process Engineer” will be based in Austin, TX, focused on cost, quality, and delivery improvements supporting a manufacturing organization.
This is a 2nd Shift opportunity with the hours being 3:00 PM to 11:15 PM
Responsibilities:
Assess workflows for optimization opportunities addressing efficiency and accuracy of resource movement
Utilize existing data and metrics to evaluate performance, developing new analytics as required
Improve material traceability and supply paths to minimize waste
Interface with factory operations, factory engineering, order management, and warehouse teams to develop and maintain effective material management for each unique zone of the project
Develop and implement improvement projects updating processes, systems, and/or equipment
Understand the processing of the manufacturing lines and how the material flows into the individual use locations
Familiarity with MES and ERP systems
Ability to provide detailed documentation of processes and proposed updates
Recognize the manufacturing process, technologies, techniques and the product.
Define, implement, and evaluate processes for manufacturability with a focus on material movement and accounting.
Have the capability to singly or with other engineering stakeholders identify root causes of failures in the manufacturing process.
High level participation in daily production activities and effective problem solving on daily issues.
Prepare justification, purchase and implement capital equipment for production.
Hold up and oversee new process equipment production.
Hold up the raising and introduction of engineering change orders (ECOs).
Establish robust, repeatable and reproducible process parameters.
Develop, implement and take ownership of process control methodologies.
Trouble shoot process related issues.
Participate in activities pertaining to cycle time and process improvements.
Evaluate and select various engineered materials.
Implement statistical process research on new and existing products.
Implement safety, productivity and give in improvements.
Improve manufacturing techniques and through put.
Provide continuous development of manufacturing techniques that will improve in-house capabilities
Develop and maintain process documentation per medical manufacturing guidelines.
Review processing methods.
Interface with production of all activities associated with new process implementation and transfer.
Assist in the development of training and provide training to production personnel during new technology transfer.
Provide equipment maintenance and repair as required.
Guide cost improvement/reduction programs.
Qualifications:
Requires a Bachelor's degree in related field (preferably industrial engineering) or equivalent experience and training.
minimum of 2 years of experience in process, manufacturing, or industrial engineering
experience with lean manufacturing, six sigma, kaizen
Prefer experience with medical manufacturing
