To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, this Summer, we're looking to add a Mechanical Engineering Intern located in our Buffalo Grove, IL site.
Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Intern will assist with daily engineering tasks while learning, collaborating and working alongside Engineers and cross-functional teams.
What a typical day looks like:
- Assist Engineering Team with cost reductions, reviewing documentation, drawings and CAD
- Support the documentation for new designs, including AutoCAD drawings, Word, Excel, etc.
- Support with writing Scope of Work (SOW) for new manufacturing processes and facility upgrades
- Assist and oversee the upgrades of the facility and utilities
- Monitor Engineering DOE (Design Of Experiment) projects
- Collaborate with Engineering Team with writing reports and reporting findings to team
- Attend team meetings and support project work as needed
- Provide continuous development of manufacturing techniques that will improve in-house capabilities
- Develop and maintain process documentation within our CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), including Work Instructions and Preventive Maintenance Tasks (PM)
- Make recommendations on cost improvement and reduction programs
- Manage engineering projects and deliver them on time
Student qualities we're seeking for this internship assignment:
- Junior/Senior student pursuing Bachelor degree; Mechanical/Industrial Engineering major
- CAD tools (Solidworks) experience
- Lean/Six Sigma helpful
- Enthusiastic about working in a medical manufacturing environment
- Highly collaborative, creative and excellent communication skills
Internship Program Requirements:
- Ability to start on June 2nd and work 10-12 week Summer assignment (in-person); 40 hours/week
- Currently enrolled in 4-year accredited university
- 3.0 GPA
