Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Material Quote Senior Engineer in Chennai, India.

What a typical day looks like:

• Candidate has primary responsibility to prepare Should cost based on the 2d/3d drawing and information provided by the customer.
• Analyze customer RFQ and technical documents to extract relevant quote data
• Provide recommendation and costing assumptions if there is insufficient information provided by customer.
• Provide professional advice on the regional pricing, tier pricing in assisting SSCM to make regional supply chain recommendations
• Work with suppliers to ensure accurate quote and competitive pricing to support winning opportunities.
• Data analysis comparison on existing parts globally
• Work closely with global commodity team to align suppliers with project requirements.
• Communicate commercial term and technical queries to internal teams and external
• The role also includes sending RFQ to suppliers. Analyze supplier quote, cost negotiation, obtain cost breakdown details from suppliers.
• Perform sensitivity analysis to understand the impact of different factors on cost
• Experience in handling global suppliers especially with China Suppliers
• Time management and ability to handle multiple RFQ simultaneously
• Stay updated on regulations and compliance that may affect cost structures

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field 
• Experience in Fastener, die cut Industry and Other Mech commodity sourcing with min 5-7 years working experience.
• Good communication skills for interacting with sales teams, engineers and suppliers
• Knowledge of Fasteners application, material, surface finishing etc.
• Knowledge of die cut materials and manufacturing process
• Knowledge on other various Mechanical commodity (Preferably Die cast, Machining) and its manufacturing process to get data needed for cost estimation
• Knowledgeable about supplier's technological capabilities, pricing advantages and industries requirements
• Familiar and able to read, interpret 2D/3D mechanical drawings, designs and specifications
• Ability to read and interpret BOMS (bill of materials)
• Proficiency in 2d/3d software, Auto cad, Solid works and MS office, Excel, Word, Power point.,
• Understand of material cost trends, including copper, gold and laminate etc and other key raw material used in Global Mech.
