Job SummaryTo support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Director of Power Sourcing located in Taiwan Taipei Wugu Site.
Responsible for a team of global commodity management professionals that drive best in class total cost of ownership for the entirety of the Embedded Power supplier portfolio. Develop commodity specific strategies to ensure Embedded Power's supply base is aligned with the needs of the Grid to Chip Power Marketplace. Work with both global and regional suppliers to ensure suppliers can meet the current and future needs of Embedded Power's engineering, design and manufacturing organization.
What a typical day looks like:
- Ensure the highest ethical standards of integrity and professionalism are adhered to in the procurement process in accordance with corporate requirements
- Drive total cost of ownership improvement across the entire Embedded Power supply base. Be able to report and clearly articulate improvements realized over time
- Create commodity specific strategies for strategic components within Embedded Power products to ensure Embedded Power Sourcing organization is keeping pace with market dynamics
- Work directly with all layers of both large Global and small regional suppliers to ensure Embedded Power is getting best in class service from its supply base
- Demonstrate and execute on a make vs. buy strategy for certain components within Embedded Power's product portfolio
- Work with regional suppliers to ensure Embedded Power's supply base can meet the localization requirements of the BU to support manufacturing operations
- Support escalations from Embedded Power's manufacturing operations to ensure finished goods can me manufactured and delivered to customer requirements
- Negotiate and ensure adherence to Embedded Power's terms and conditions via contract creation and re-negotiation
- Consolidate input from research and design and translate this into requirements for Embedded Power's supply base to support both projects in development as well as future projects
- Develop and expand a Preferred Supplier List specific to Embedded Power for all regions
- Support supplier specific issues with New Product Introduction efforts to ensure product time and cost to market meets RFQ
- Align supplier roadmaps with Embedded Power Product Line roadmaps
- Develop organization and retain talent to support a rapidly growing BU
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
- Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience and training plus a minimum of 10 years of management experience. A Master's or MBA degree is preferred but not required
- Demonstrates mastery of functional knowledge in relation to other functions and a complete understanding of the function and those of related businesses. Use of the following tools may be required: Office Skills: typing, telephones, office software to include, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation package and database systems.
- Outstanding interpersonal and negotiating skills.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top executive management at Flex or suppliers.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, interest and discounts. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
The experience will be a plus:
- Ability to speak and write Mandarin is preferred.
- Extensive supply chain experience in High Power would be preferred.
- Experience at an ODM company would be preferred.
