Job Description Summary
Lead and manage the Project Delivery Team, ensuring the successful delivery of funded projects and services from handover to completion. Provide expertise, solutions, and quality assurance to meet timelines, budgets, and specifications. Collaborate with team members, suppliers, and sponsors to support project governance and development. Serve as the Center of Excellence (CoE) head for one or more specialty areas. Report to the Head of IT Delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership:

  • Oversee the team's project delivery, ensuring quality, financial, and output targets are met.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance management to enhance team capabilities.
  • Allocate and organize workloads, ensuring alignment with workplans and capacity.

Project Management:

  • Manage a portfolio of 3-10 projects, ensuring delivery aligns with PRINCE2 & MSP frameworks.
  • Conduct cost control, quality assurance, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Transition deliverables to Service Delivery for production.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build and maintain relationships with senior-level external partners.
  • Provide expert advice to influence governance and structure during project lifecycles.
  • Escalate issues to management with clear recommendations for resolution.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure solutions adhere to defined architecture and standards.
  • Maintain high-quality project delivery artifacts and comprehensive reporting.
  • Support IT policy and decision-making through portfolio insights and analysis.

CoE Leadership:

  • Manage a team focused on best practices in a specialty area to drive results.

Minimum Education/Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/MIS or equivalent education and experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum Experience/Skills

  • 4+ years leading development, business analysis, and software implementations.
  • 3+ years managing complete project lifecycles.
  • 2+ years managing a team of analysts or developers.
  • Experience with full lifecycle system implementations.
  • Proficiency in business software, problem-solving, and communication.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Transportation experience is a plus.
