Overview

This position is responsible for assisting in all phases of client relationship management and retention strategies, with a focus on service and delivery of EPIC resources to our large account clients. EPIC is looking for a self-motivated, high energy and well-organized expert to join our team. 

 

Location:

This role requires a hybrid work schedule either out of our Newport Beach or LA office.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Know our client's business, goals, and objectives
  • Work with our Client Advocate to develop risk management strategies that are key to the client's business, goals, and objectives
  • Work with the core service team to manage service delivery and ensure quality levels are met
  • Manage and Maintain: Certificates of Insurance, Auto ID Cards, Posting Notices, Invoicing, Policy Management, Schedules of Insurance, Shared Drive and Shared Portals, Expiration Lists, Checklists
  • Contract Review
  • Coverage Knowledge and Technical Abilities: General Liability, Business Auto, Workers Compensation, Umbrella/Excess Liability, Environmental, Financial and Executive Risk (D&O, EPL, Fiduciary, Crime, Cyber)
  • Mergers and Acquisition Due Diligence
  • Work with clients to identify, analyze and quantify exposures
  • Review clients' exposures and loss experience against current types of coverage and analyze the risks to determine the products and service requirements in collaboration with Client Advocate and product line specialists
  • Prepare Submissions and Loss Run Summaries
  • Participate in the Broker Business Plan and Client Management Process
  • Coordinate the production of stewardship reports
  • Prepare professional proposals and written reports
  • Understand Risk Consulting Services (Claims, Loss Control and Analytics)
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry and market trends
  • Learn the value proposition of all Practices, including Property, Casualty, Executive Risk & Cyber, Aviation, Marine, Surety, Environmental and Benefits; contribute to the production of new sales collateral as needed
  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the company at its discretion from time to time

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster relationships with clients, colleagues, and insurance carrier representatives
  • Ability to develop and maintain thorough knowledge about products available in the marketplace and translate insurance terms into easy-to-understand explanations for clients who are not familiar with the product lines involved.
  • Ability to work independently, self-directed and meet deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/assignments, and communicate with team members across various offices
  • Desire to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
  • Ability to learn and grasp concepts quickly

Credentials and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of insurance broking experience (or similar insurance underwriting experience)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Broker's License in current state of residence
  • Valid state drivers license required
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
  • Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires teamwork, demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy.

The national average salary for this role is $110,000 to $120,000 in base pay and exclusive of any bonuses or benefits. The base pay offered will be determined based on your experience, skills, training, certifications and education, while also considering internal equity and market data.
