Position Summary:  

The primary purpose of this position is track and manage new annuity applications through the suitability, new business and money transfer process at the Carrier acting as an advocate for our customers.  This includes keeping the producer informed of the progress of the case and to insure the contract is placed inforce within company established time guidelines. 

Essential Functions:

1. Case manage from the time the application is received through contract issue.

2. Review and input applications same day of receipt:

    • Review application and forms for completion, including signatures and dates, and verify correct form by state and product.
    • Scrub the application to verify all questions are completed and detailed information is provided in the answers.
    • Contact the writing agent for details to complete the applications so it is IGO (In Good Order) prior to submission.
    • Performance Goal is to have 100% of applications processed and ready for submission IGO.
    • Review, manage and submit both paper and e-applications through Firelight

3.  Check agent appointment and work with Contracting team to verify it is okay to submit the application. Complete app coding with agent code

4.  Be aware of and maintain Carrier rate changes and rate lock rules.

5.  Update assigned cases with current status:

    • When a case is being reviewed or updated, always check carrier status via phone call or internet status to confirm the case is as current as possible.
    • Request / Obtain new requirements as requested by the carrier within 24 hours
    • Provide producer with status updates at least every 7 days or sooner if warranted.
    • Manage Command Center in Agency Management System (AMS) and keep up to date within 24 hours
    • A cover letter needs to accompany any application that requires special attention, such as limited window to transfer money.

6.  Review requirements upon receipt and submit to the carrier within 24 hours

    • Review all requirements for completion, including signatures and dates.

7.  Prior to closing a case be sure to exhaust all appropriate avenues which could include: 

    • Discuss with Team Lead
    • Discuss with Annuity Manager
    • Make a clear and concise case note advising why the file was closed in AMS.

8.  Check and manage Rate Lock report weekly.

9.  Answering incoming calls promptly, professionally and in a warm and courteous manner. Return calls within 4 business hours, doing your best to return all calls before leaving for the day.

10.  Respond to all incoming e-mails promptly, professionally and in a warm and courteous manner.

    • All e-mails from a producer's office should be responded to in 4 business hours.
    • All other e-mails should be handled in 24 hours.

11.  Building strong relationships with Carriers and Writing Agents.

  • Maintain expertise and knowledge of current carrier guidelines and rulings in new business.

  • Computer and keyboard literate
  • Experience with Annuities and financial professionals.
  • Exposure to Variable and RILA a plus

The national average salary for this role is $50,000 to $65,000 in base pay and exclusive of any bonuses or benefits. The base pay offered will be determined based on your experience, skills, training, certifications and education, while also considering internal equity and market data.
