Description

The Senior Asset Recovery Specialist serves as subject matter expert for Enterprise Products' Asset Recovery program and is responsible for effectively managing the company's surplus inventory.  Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with internal stakeholders during project closeout to determine the appropriate strategy for excess material such as line pipe, valves, fittings, pumps, motors, etc.
  • Coordinate the transportation, loading and unloading of surplus inventory.
  • Manage the Oracle Surplus Inventory Module and maintain associated material records such as item pictures and Material Test Reports (MTRs). 
  • Oversee annual physical inventory counts for Surplus Assets, recording and explaining any discrepancies in the Oracle Surplus Inventory Module.
  • Travel to various locations, such as Enterprise operating facilities, laydown yards, and warehouses to identify and manage surplus inventory.
  • Effectively manage material and schedule maintenance for all Surplus Inventory requiring preventive maintenance. 
  • Track and report Asset Recovery Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for management.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Accounting to ensure asset sales and inventory impairments are properly recorded.
  • Visually inspect Surplus Inventory items to determine condition, and potential risk for deployment to Enterprise facilities.
  • Review relevant policies and procedures to recommend and implement process improvements.
  • Provide guidance to management and other internal stakeholders on surplus and sales opportunities to reduce obsolescence.
  • Utilize various inventory selling strategies such as auctions and direct bidding to obtain the highest value for the sale of surplus assets.  
  • Manage the negotiation and sale, including contractual negotiations when selling assets to third parties.
  • Work with third party providers of scrap services as appropriate in managing the site cleanup, sale, or disposal of surplus assets that are not suitable for redeployment in Enterprise.


Requirements

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in industrial distribution, engineering, or supply chain management.
  • 5-8 years' experience in the energy industry or related industries (such as process, chemicals, etc.).
  • Previous asset recovery experience or materials management is required. 
  • Effective negotiator.
  • A highly motivated self-starter with strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Must be articulate, organized, and detailed-oriented, and have excellent communication skills. 
  • Comfortable solving problems and making decisions.
  • Strong knowledge of oil & gas equipment.
  • Experienced in equipment evaluation, appraisals, bidding, and negotiations desired. 
  • Working knowledge of scrap and surplus markets.
  • Experience in use of ERP software inventory control functionality.  Experience with Oracle is preferred.
  • Ability to work successfully both and in the corporate office and in the field.
  • PC literate with good skills in Microsoft Office applications; strong Excel skills is required.
  • Must be able to produce understandable and accurate reports and records. 
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with field, administrative and accounting personnel.
  • Knowledge of shipping and freight practices.
  • Ability to travel 25%.
