
Description
The Training Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating training programs to enhance employee skills and organizational performance. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Identify training needs based on industry standards, company policies, and job requirements.
- Create and update training materials, including presentations, manuals, and online modules.
- Plan and structure training sessions to ensure effective learning and knowledge retention.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods, such as classroom instruction, simulations, on-the-job training, and e-learning.
- Recruit, train, and manage instructors, ensuring they have the necessary expertise and skills to deliver effective training.
- Prepare and manage the training budget, including allocating resources for training materials, instructors, and facilities.
- Ensure resources are used efficiently and effectively to meet training needs.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, feedback surveys, and performance evaluations.
- Identify areas for improvement and adjust training programs to ensure they are effective.
- Provide regular reports on training activities, outcomes, and budget performance.
- Ensure training programs comply with all relevant industry standards and regulations, such as those related to environmental, health, and safety, DOT, OSHA and PHMSA.
- Stay up to date on the latest industry trends and best practices in training and development.
- Develop and deliver training on specific midstream operations, such as pipeline transport, terminal operations, and storage facilities.
- Prioritize safety training, covering topics such as emergency response, pipeline integrity, and hazardous material handling.
- Provide technical training on equipment, systems, and processes used in midstream operations.
Requirements
The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Training & Development, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related technical field required; extensive experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- A minimum of 5 years of safety, DOT, or operations experience is preferred.
- A deep understanding of midstream operations, including pipelines, terminals, and other related infrastructure is required.
- Experience in developing and delivering training programs, including online and in-person formats, and knowledge of adult learning principles.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, manage budgets, and collaborate with various departments.
- Familiarity with industry regulations, standards, and best practices, including safety and environmental regulations.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with employees, stakeholders, and other professionals.
- Ability to prepare presentations and communicate clearly, concisely, persuasively, and confidently with all levels within an organization.
- Ability to effectively work and share information, ideas, and resources with other individuals, teams, internal customers, and stakeholders of the business.
- Ability to navigate competing priorities, multi-task and change direction in a variety of workplace situations.
- Ability to utilize a variety of business/technical software tools to perform responsibilities is preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) is required.
