The Real Estate Specialist position is responsible for supporting the Groups in all areas of real estate with emphasis on real property acquisitions and dispositions or lease administration. This position is responsible for handling and/or consulting on simple to moderate real estate transactions.

This position is located at our Corporate Headquarters in Clayton, MO.


Real Property Acquisition/Disposition & Due Diligence Duties:

  • Review and draft purchase and sale agreements and letters of intent and assist in the review and
    drafting of closing documents and the like
  • Track critical dates
  • Review and provide comments/suggestions as needed on all due diligence including environmental studies, title insurance commitments, surveys, appraisals, zoning reports, inspection reports and the like
  • Review, update and sometimes develop corporate acquisition and disposition and other forms
  • Provide Best Practices memoranda to keep groups abreast of changes in real estate issues
  • All other acquisition/disposition support

Lease administration duties:

  • Interpret final executed lease and contract documents to ensure rent, rent escalations, tax payment obligations, insurance payment obligations are accurately abstracted so proper payments to landlords can be made
  • Ensure options to renew lease terms and notice requirements are properly abstracted and system email notices are set up to remind the groups so that option renewals are not missed and properties are not lost as a result
  • Ensure purchase options or rights of first refusal to purchase or lease properties are accurately abstracted as well as other factual contractual information is abstracted appropriately
  • Enter, abstract and maintain information in the Real Estate software database
  • Communicate with group and/or corporate personnel to resolve database or lease administration issues
  • Review, update and sometimes develop corporate lease and other forms
  • All other lease administration support
  • Develop customized reports in real estate software database as requested by group and/or corporate
  • Develop and revise job aides and other training materials regarding real estate software and data base
  • Conduct training sessions on real estate software database for group and/or corporate personnel
  • Review leases, amendments, extensions and other legal documents and provide comments/suggestions
  • Draft leases, amendments, extensions and other legal documents
  • Provide lease interpretations and assist groups in drafting correspondence to landlords
  • Review estoppel certificates and subordination, non-disturbance and attornment agreements
  • Provide CAM audit advice and reconciliations

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate or General Business preferred
  • Three (3) years or more previous experience in transactional matters in a corporate setting or law firm required
  • Familiarity with title insurance, endorsements, closing practices and customs preferred
  • Basic level proficiency or above with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required
  • Valid Driver's License
  • No more than two moving violations and/or at-fault accidents within the last three years
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
