GENERAL SUMMARY
The Unified Communications Engineer supports the hospital by ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient communication systems for clinical, administrative, and emergency operations.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administer the configuration and ongoing operational integrity of key enterprise-wide production UC platforms to ensure clear and reliable communications
- Participate in onboarding of new offsite practices, hospital and other organization's location into the UC platform and other related communication systems.
- Responsible for configuration, and deployment of Mobile devices
- Manages and issues individual and system PKI certificates through the Mobile Device Management system.
- Evaluate emerging UC technologies that improve care team collaboration and patient experience.
- Analyze call data to optimize trunk usage, reduce costs, and plan for capacity growth.
- Install, maintain and support fax lines, PRI connections and other voice and data related circuits.
- Administer, install and maintain the overhead paging system and related hardware.
- Document the design, installation, configuration, and maintenance of UC systems, including network diagrams, technical specifications, and procedures for troubleshooting and maintenance
- Coordinate with IT teams to scope projects, provide technical input and follow-up support
- Proactively monitor system performance and outages
- Promote best practices and transfer technical knowledge to department members
- Train staff on utilizing the organizations communication systems
- Provide timely troubleshooting support for UC infrastructure in alignment with third party vendors
- Provide reports and present data as requested by IT management
- Hardware procurement and asset management
- Attend product and technology training as required
- Participate in On-Call rotations including weekends and holidays
- Provide assigned on-site support during go-lives and system upgrades.

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (required)
- Minimum 3 years of IT work experience with 1 year of work experience with Unified Communication systems
- Preffered knowledge of VoIP, SIP, RTP, QoS, and network fundamentals.
- Experience with Cisco, Avaya, Zoom, or comparable unified communication platforms.
- Familiarity with paging systems, and emergency notification solutions.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills, with ability to prioritize issues in a patient-care environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Availability to work beyond normal business hours
- Professionally manage time between daily tasks and projects.

The rate of pay for each position will be determined based on a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, skills, etc. The minimum rate does not include bonuses/incentives, differential pay or other forms of compensation.
