Job Summary:
The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for the management and coordination of the physician's clinic and surgery schedule. Previous surgery scheduling experience a plus, especially in Gynecology! The ideal candidate manages the insurance verification process, frequently calling insurance companies to acquire pre-authorizations. Must have excellent customer service skills along with strong critical thinking and analytical skills for problem solving. Must demonstrate professionalism at all times and have strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills. Working as a team member, with the ability to build good relationships with hospital staff inside and outside the department, is essential. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high phone and patient volume environment. Must be detail oriented, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure. Able to use effective time management to set priorities. Job Essentials:
- 1-3 years Scheduling Coordinator experience preferred
- Previous experience working in a medical office required
- Bilingual Spanish
- Proficient in Microsoft applications and EMR/Epic experience
Education Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
