Position Concept

The Vice President of Human Resources is responsible for managing the relationship with the outsourced HR solution and ensuring that key performance indicators related to the staff spoke are achieved. Equally as important, the Vice President will oversee the recruitment and onboarding of new employees as well as curating a culture that is consistent with the mission, vision, and values of the organization ensuring that all staff are respected and treated fairly.

 

Essential Functions

  • Manage the recruitment of new staff ensuring a consistent talent pipeline to fill critical positions within the organization.
  • Oversee all components of staff credentialing in compliance with local, state, federal and contractual requirements.
  • Maintain an ongoing relationship and dialogue and manage the contract with the outsourced human resources provider to achieve key performance metrics related to human resources.
  • Develop and deliver trainings that promote a culture consistent with the mission, vision and values of the organization.
  • Oversee the implementation and ongoing sustainability of the Person Side of the Wheel (framework for company culture).

 

Other Duties Include, But Not Limited To

  • Complete all training requirements as set forth by Eckerd and its contracting, licensing, and accrediting agencies.  Participate in training and development activities as required.
  • Adheres to the corporate Code of Conduct and Professional Ethics. Ensure adherence to Eckerd's Policy and Procedure Manual.
  • Report any use of physical force and all unusual incidents per Eckerd policy and state guidelines.
  • Report any acts, incidents, or conditions that reflect the possibility of inappropriate participant-to-participant or staff-to-participant/family relationships, and/or liable situations as per Eckerd policy and state guidelines.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned or as judgment and/or necessity dictates.

 

Position Specifications

Education: Minimum of a bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field, Master's degree preferred.

Experience: A minimum of ten years of progressive responsibility across organizations that deal with a wide variety of constituents and business lines. Preference will be given to individuals with Executive-level experience and with prior experience/exposure in dealing with governmental agencies.

Skills: Superior interpersonal skills required along with a strong drive to execute and get things done. Strategic thinking, analytical reasoning, financial and conceptual skills essential. Must be able to think in terms of "resourcefulness" versus "more resources." Outstanding written and verbal communication essential. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite software, Outlook and project management applications. Knowledge of state and local workforce development, child welfare and juvenile justice systems important. Must have documented and well-demonstrated human resources experience. Must be extremely well organized with the ability to consume, retain and leverage massive amounts of information and data generated from across the entire span of the Organization's operations.

Other:  Appropriate and valid state driver's license and ability to meet Eckerd Connects' auto insurance guidelines. Must successfully pass a background screening process, including, but not limited to, state, local, and funder criminal background check requirements. Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.

Travel: Must have the ability to travel on behalf of the organization. Travel up to 10% of the time.

Physical Demands: Must be free of communicable disease as defined by the applicable state and to the extent that knowledge is attainable under federal law. Ability to sit and type for extended periods of time.
