Duties and Responsibilities:

  • As a Security and Protective Services Instructor, you'll report to the Career Technical Training Manager and play a pivotal role in providing high-quality instruction to our students.
  • Foster a positive and desirable atmosphere within the classroom to maximize student motivation
  • Set and meet SMART goals established by management each program year
  • Maintain discipline within the classroom to ensure optimal learning outcomes
  • Deliver instruction on the Security and Protective Services curriculum in alignment with Job Corps requirements
  • Counsel and motivate students on behavior, training, and personal development
  • Develop supplemental lessons and recommend curricula changes as needed
  • Individualize curriculum to fit students' vocational choices and maintain contact with counselors and instructors
  • Ensure security measures are implemented and equipment and supplies are well-maintained
  • Prepare reports on student/staff hours, requisitions, and monthly evaluations
  • Maintain a conducive learning environment and adhere to Quality Assurance Plan standards
  • Model appropriate CSS and employability skills, including personal responsibility and computer fluency
  • Maintain accountability of staff, students, and property, adhering to safety practices
  • Cultivate a safe and respectful climate on center free of harassment and intimidation
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Appropriate certification/license in the state of employment or equivalent
  • Prefer extensive practical knowledge of the subject area and teaching experience
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record

Additional Requirements:

  • Proficiency in subject area and ability to effectively transfer knowledge to students
  • Strong organizational, communication, and motivational skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Comfortable working in various environmental conditions
  • Must be able to interact effectively with team members and maintain positive working relationships
