On-Site Role: Must be available to work on-site at this assigned work location.

Emergency Response: Yes – Must be available to perform a primary assignment in support of DTE's emergency response to storms or other events that impact service to our customers.

Job Summary
  • Coordinates Transmission ILI Pigging and Remediation construction activities across the state. Determines project schedule, resources required and sequence of construction of pigging operations.  Utilizes pipeline integrity data and develops plans to repair problem areas. Coordinates and assists with hot tapping and stopple operations. Indirectly supervises Company and contract personnel. Interacts with Engineering, Environmental Engineering, the Lab, Survey and Land, and operating departments and with external groups including governmental agencies I.e. MPSC.
Key Accountabilities
  • Assist in the development of a highly trained, skilled, productive work force.
  • Plan, schedule, monitor and control work to meet or exceed project goals utilizing the MOS.
  • Supervises project crews with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Understands and applies Code of Federal Regulations parts including OSHA and Department of Transportation [DOT], MIOSHA Regulations, Michigan Gas Safety Standards, Michcon Standards and Safety rules
  • Understands and applies Collective Bargaining Agreements
  • Understands and applies the specifications and requirements for design and construction of transmission, distribution and compression facilities including stopple operations
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three to five years of field experience in transmission operations with an emphasis on construction, stopple, welding and nonroutine pigging operations

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Previous knowledge of ILI pigging operations
  • Workload planning experience
Other Qualifications
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office.
  • Security screening and drug testing is required for access.
  • Frequent travel required.
  • Analytical, problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing with people at all levels both within and outside the company.
  • Must be available for priority/emergency response.
  • Work is conducted in all weather conditions.
