Testing Required: EEI TECH Test and Customer Meeting Test

 

Job Summary

Perform work assignments related to providing safe, reliable and economical service to those secondary customers requiring new or modified service installations. Design new line extensions both secondary and primary voltage.

Key Accountabilities
  • Performs various inspections of overhead/underground construction for compliance to company standards.
  • Advise customers & contractors of company standards relating to new and/or upgraded service requirements for secondary.
  • Provide field information for estimates, schedules & post construction costs using company provided systems.
  • Act as representative to internal/external customers on construction methods.
  • Write construction orders for both overhead/underground secondary jobs.
  • Builds consensus or support for the implementation of new programs, initiatives or solutions.
  • Identifies problems as they occur, analyzes the context of the problems, uncovers related issues, develops a recommended solution(s) for the problem and identifies any problems or barriers to implementation.
  • Responsible for providing information, advice and guidance to community leaders, community organizations, consultants, elected government officials, federal government regulatory agencies, industry associations, professional contacts/associations, and public relations/advertising agencies.
  • Negotiates with prospective, residential and commercial customers.
  • Participates in meeting or group discussions; provides advice and direction on products and/or services.
  • Prepares proposals, speeches, presentations, work unit policies/procedures as needed. Facilitates group discussions, conducts formal presentations and participates in employee training.
Qualifications

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

The typical formal education level required to do this job is high school or equivalent with satisfactory completion of high school courses in any three of the following:  drafting, CAD, basic electricity, physics, and mathematics which includes geometry or fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry or technical mathematics.  **Note:  Documentation of these courses is required at the time of application.  Also, you must have a passing grade of "C" or better for these courses. 

The minimum prior job – related experience necessary to do this job is two years, but less than three years. To be fully proficient at this job, at least three years but less than five years prior job-related experience is necessary.

OR

Must have a minimum of three years' Power Plant experience and be a Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW).

 

Preferred:

The preferred formal education level is a technical diploma or Associate's degree. 

 

Other Qualifications

  • This job requires a working knowledge of CRT/keyboard usage, creative design/layout, and desktop publishing, data entry, filing, internal customer service, and PC applications software (spreadsheets, graphics, database managers, etc.) Additionally, this job requires an advanced knowledge of technical illustration/computer aided design and telephone skills.
  • This job requires a working knowledge of equipment performance/testing.
  • This job requires a working knowledge of complaint resolution, cross selling/recommending products, metering, product distribution, product knowledge, product pricing, service planning, service restoration, and service pricing. Additionally, this job requires an advanced knowledge of customer service.
  • This job requires a working knowledge of inspection
