That's Nice, But What's the Job?
In short as the Manager, HR Compliance Operations (Manager, EE Operations), you will lead our Employee Experience Operations team with a focus on pre-boarding, and onboarding processes. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day HR operations while ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. The Manager will serve as a subject matter expert in HR compliance, driving process integrity, policy adherence, and continuous improvement across the employee lifecycle.
In long, our Manager, HR Compliance Operations is responsible for:
Lead, coach, and develop the Employee Experience Operations team, including Coordinators and Specialists to ensure efficient, accurate, and compliant execution of HR processes.
Ensure HR policies, procedures, and documentation comply with all federal, state, and local employment laws, including but not limited to EEO, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, I-9, and immigration regulations.
Stay current with changes in employment laws and regulations; evaluate their impact on organizational policies and recommend necessary updates or process adjustments.
Oversee core HR operations, including background screening, I-9 management, unemployment claim administration, employment verification, and personnel file/document retention practices.
Manage employment eligibility verification and immigration processes in partnership with outside legal counsel and internal stakeholders.
Partner with HR leadership, Legal, Payroll, and IT to streamline workflows and enhance compliance through effective use of HR systems (e.g., Workday).
Identify and implement efficiencies that improve the employee experience during onboarding while maintaining compliance and data integrity.

The Specifics.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or team lead capacity.
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR compliance practices.
Demonstrated experience managing I-9s, background checks, unemployment claims, and document retention processes.
Proficiency in HRIS systems (Workday experience preferred).
Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with all levels of the organization.
