Summary:  Provides administrative support to the Warehouse Inventory Control Supervisor and Director of Operations. Maintains up-to-date product information and racking configurations in the WMS, Oracle, and Argent Labor Module.  Familiarity with food warehousing and safety requirements is required. The work takes place in ambient warehouse environments as well as in cooler and freezer areas where the temperatures may be as low as -20 degrees. The Slotting Analyst will also work closely with Inventory Control/Quality Assurance (IC/QA) to provide data and analytical support for process improvement initiatives, root cause investigation of defects, and support to insure our customers receive the product they ordered. The Analyst is also responsible for operational solutions for: warehouse optimization, cost containment, capacity enhancement and information management.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in the slotting of new items at the time of receiving. Slotting items into pick slots that will hold two to three weeks of outbound sales. Utilize different slot types based on product movement.

  • Updating of warehouse pick and reserve pallet locations as needed. Keep warehouse mapping current.  Run daily/weekly reports to show warehouse capacity by temperature zones.

  • Review product placement to increase warehouse efficiency and productivity by reduction in replenishment letdowns and associated travel time.

  • Works in unison with various WMS (Oracle and Lucas) for put-away and replenishment efficiencies.

  • Reduce product damages stemming from incorrect product placement.

  • Reduce inventory physical adjustments due to incorrect product placement and slotting.

  • Collaborates with Buyers to identify aging product to reduce spoils.

  • Identify and correct areas that can create safety hazards.

     

Job Requirements: 

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • Two-year Warehouse experience.

  • Oracle AS400 systems experience.

  • Microsoft programs (Excel, Outlook, Word and Power Point)

  • Excellent written and communication skills.

  • Strong analytical and logic skills.

  • Detail Oriented.

  • Ability to work flexible shifts and weekends when required.

  • Ability to work in variable temperatures (Ambient, Refrigerated and Freezer).

  • Certified to operate a forklift to place pallets in there designated locations.

Work Environment:  The work environment is indoors in a warehouse and has exposure to different temperature zones.  The floors may be concrete in the warehouse, vinyl, tile or carpet in the interior office.
 

Work Hours:   The work schedule is 5 days a week 8 hours a day.   Start times may vary.  Work hours and shifts are subject to change depending on operating business needs and conditions.  The employee may be required to work overtime, holidays and weekends.
 

Physical and Mental Demands:  Medium, exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force seldom, up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.   The work takes place in ambient warehouse environments as well as in cooler and freezer areas where the temperatures may be as low as -20 degrees. This job also requires frequent standing and walking.  Know and apply proper safety and temperature sensitive protocols when staging or transporting goods, follow DPI grooming, hygiene and dress code, including appropriate personal protection equipment (PPE) for safety compliance.  Follow sequencing or order directions and apply knowledge of spatial relations product storage.  Know all protocols for proper paperwork and documentation delivery.
