Duties and Responsibilities
§ Support Benefits Director with financial management of all benefit programs, including timely vendor payments, accrual preparation, variance analysis and presentation of findings, and forecast development in partnership with actuary, consultants and other partners.
§ Serve as primary for vendor systems relationships, such as enrollment administrator, BlueCross BlueShield, insurance broker and HRSS, ensuring accurate and timely data transactions among the parties; develop and ongoing monitoring of plan business rules to ensure consistency, compliance and efficiency.
§ Develop and maintain information systems to adhere to PPACA (Affordable Care Act); maintain records and ensure compliance through regular audits, research and resolution.
§ Manage administration of the Better Life Wellness and Tobacco-Free Incentive programs.
§ Support management team with department priorities, such as open enrollment, new vendor implementation, compliance research, etc.
§ Collect and analyze data to monitor participation, utilization rates, and trends for health and welfare plans on a regular basis; identify, troubleshoot and recommend solutions.
§ Recommend benefits programs to management by studying employee requirements, trends, surveys and developments in our benefits and those benefits offered by other organizations.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
§ Knowledge of basic accounting, financial management, reconciliation and budget processing
§ Ability to analyze complex data and make sound, logical conclusions
§ Analytical skills sufficient to conduct thorough research, determine relevance of data and interpret meaning of data
§ Ability to create dashboards and metrics
§ Knowledge of benefit related laws and regulations, including PPACA, state disability insurance laws, HIPAA and COBRA
§ Ability to seek information from various sources and initiate projects.
§ Demonstrates maturity in communicating with all levels of employees in a fast-paced environment with the ability to maintain confidentiality of all employee data and highly sensitive material.
§ Proficiency using office technology (Outlook, Microsoft Word, etc.) and advanced knowledge of Excel.
§ Interpersonal and customer service skills including a willingness to consistently provide responsive service, the ability to react appropriately under pressure, the ability to apply good judgment in ambiguous situations and demonstrated flexibility/adaptability.
§ Excellent organizational skills including the ability to balance multiple, diverse projects in a fast-paced environment, producing quality, detail-oriented, accurate results in short timeframes.
§ Enthusiastic and motivated, ability to effectively work in collaboration with others, as well as an individual.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field is preferred
- 3+ years experience working in Benefits Administration or Accounting discipline required
- Experience using Lawson (Infor) benefits module a plus
