**Job Summary: **
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Memory Care Activities Assistant to join our dynamic team part-time. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with seniors, particularly those experiencing memory loss, and will play a vital role in enhancing the daily lives of our residents through engaging activities and programs.
**Key Responsibilities: **
- **Activity Planning and Implementation: **
- Assist in the development and execution of engaging and meaningful activities that cater to the cognitive and physical abilities of residents with memory impairments.
- Facilitate group activities such as arts and crafts, music therapy, exercise classes, games, and recreational outings while ensuring safety and enjoyment.
- **Resident Engagement: **
- Encourage resident participation in activities, providing support and personalized attention as needed.
- Build positive relationships with residents, fostering a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
- **Documentation and Reporting: **
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and engagement levels in activities for care plan updates.
- Report any notable changes in residents' behavior or health to the Memory Care Coordinator or appropriate staff.
- **Collaboration: **
- Work closely with the Memory Care Coordinator and other staff members to tailor activities and programs to meet the specific needs and interests of individual residents.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for new activities and ways to enhance resident well-being.
- **Environment Maintenance: **
- Help maintain a clean and organized activity area, ensuring all materials and supplies are stocked and ready for use.
- Set up and clean-up activities as required.
**Qualifications: **
- High school diploma or equivalent required; experience in geriatric care, social work, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with individuals with memory impairments or in a senior living environment is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for enriching the lives of individuals with dementia or memory loss.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible availability, including some weekends and holidays.
