The Conservatory at North Austin, an Independant Senior Living Community, is dedicated to providing a warm and caring environment for our residents. We strive to enhance the quality of life for our senior residents through exceptional service and support. We are currently seeking a reliable and dedicated Maintenance Porter to join our team and help maintain a safe and welcoming community for our residents.
The Maintenance Porter is responsible for performing various maintenance and cleaning tasks throughout the community. This role is crucial to ensuring that the community is clean, well-maintained, and safe for residents, families, guests and staff. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and have a genuine interest in working with Seniors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Waste Management: The Porter's primary responsibility is waste and cardboard recycling disposal throughout the community in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Maintenance Support: Assist with basic maintenance tasks and minor repairs such as: common area painting touch ups, HVAC filter, lightbulb and smoke detector battery replacements, curbside appeal & parking lot pick-up/touch-up, ensure all areas are in good working order. Report problems and areas which need attention to Concierge.
- Safety Monitoring: Report any safety hazards to the Maintenance Supervisor or Management Team promptly.
- Inventory Management: Assist in the management of maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring proper stock levels and reporting any shortages or needs to the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional support to residents and staff, addressing maintenance and cleaning requests in a timely and courteous manner.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the maintenance and housekeeping teams to ensure seamless operations and a positive living environment for residents.
- Event Support: Assist in setting up and breaking down for community events and activities as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, required.
- Experience in maintenance, housekeeping, similar role, with senior living experience preferred.
- Basic understanding of maintenance and/or housekeeping practices and procedures.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and respectful attitude towards seniors and their families.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
