**Job Title: Charge Nurse**
**Location:** Southlake 2
**Department:** Skilled Nursing
**Schedule**Weekend Double 6am to 10pm
**Job Summary:**
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Charge Nurse to join our healthcare team. The Charge Nurse will play a pivotal role in managing daily nursing operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, and providing leadership and support to nursing staff. This position requires strong clinical skills, as well as excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal abilities.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Patient Care Management:**
- Oversee patient care activities and ensure adherence to established protocols and standards.
- Conduct patient assessments, develop nursing care plans, and monitor patient progress.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
2. **Staff Leadership:**
- Supervise and mentor nursing staff, including Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and nursing assistants.
- Assign and delegate patient care assignments to ensure balanced workloads and effective team functioning.
- Provide orientation and training for new staff members.
3. **Collaboration and Communication:**
- Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate communication and enhance patient care.
- Conduct staff meetings to discuss policies, procedures, and patient care issues.
4. **Quality Assurance:**
- Monitor and ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of best practices.
5. **Crisis Intervention:**
- Respond promptly to emergencies and provide appropriate care and support to patients and staff.
- Address conflicts and grievances among staff and patients while promoting a positive work environment.
6. **Administrative Duties:**
- Assist in maintaining accurate patient records, including documentation of care, treatments, and outcomes.
- Participate in staffing decisions, including scheduling and performance evaluations.
**Qualifications:**
- **Education:** Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred; an Associate's degree (ADN) accepted with relevant experience.
- **Licensure:** Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) is required.
- **Experience:** Minimum of [X years] of clinical nursing experience, with at least [1-2 years] in a leadership/charge nurse role.
- **Certification:** Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are preferred; additional certifications in specialty areas are a plus.
