**Overview**

M Health Fairview Clinics and Surgery Center - Maple Grove is seeking a collaborative Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Maple Grove Ambulatory Surgery Center team. ?The RN will work in the preop, postop, and PACU areas.? This is a 0.7 FTE position that is benefit eligible. The Surgery Center is open Monday - Friday between the hours of 6:30am and 4:00pm.? Shift start times vary based on need.??

Fairview Maple Grove Ambulatory Surgery Center is a partnership with University of MN Physicians where you will find more than 20 medical specialties in one convenient location. Our patients have access to primary and specialty care for pediatrics and adults which also includes a cancer center, breast center and the ambulatory surgery center. We have 4 Endoscopy Procedure rooms.??

**Responsibilities Job Description**

The RN is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care of all assigned Perianesthesia patients. Coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate, while following policy, procedures and professional practice guidelines. RN provides pre and post anesthesia care to a broad range of patients from pediatrics to adults.? RN provides patient and family centered care while using effective communication within the team, with family and the patient. Will provide discharge instructions to patients and families using a variety of methods.

**RN Duties include but are not limited to:?**

Providing Pre and post op phone calls, pre-op assessment and admission, assisting with procedures, administering conscious sedation

Nursing care for patients in altered state of consciousness, airway assessment and maintenance, medication administration and comfort management

Knowledge of anesthetic agents, narcotic analgesics and cardiovascular drugs

Ability to recognize and treat arrhythmia and respond to hemodynamic changes.

Ability to provide discharge instructions to patients and families of different cultures from pediatrics-adult

**Qualifications**

Required:

MN RN licensure

2 year minimum of experience as RN in a PACU or Perianesthesia units, including experience with advanced airways and telemetry.?

BLS for health care providers

ACLS

PALS- within 6 months of hire if not certified
