Job Description

A client of Insight Global is looking to hire a Director of Nursing to organize and oversee all perioperative nursing operations at their surgery center in Exton, PA. This is a direct hire position, working onsite Monday - Friday.

Candidates for the director of nursing position should have full-time, consistent perioperative experience as a Registered Nurse for a minimum of 5 years and have developed their managerial and administrative skills.

The ideal candidate will have excellent time management, organizational, and multitasking abilities as well as strong interpersonal communication skills.

This position works closely with the Board of Directors of the Center.

The Director of Nursing will essentially be responsible for the following:

* Direct, oversee, and evaluate all nursing and support personnel (registered nurses, LPN, ST etc.)

* Guide staffing policies and procedures

* Set objectives and long-term goals for the nursing department

* Organize and coordinate admission, nursing, and patient care procedures

* Develop and enforce policies aiming for legal and PA Department of Health compliance and high quality standards

* Control budgets and monitor expenditures; code and submit invoices to accounts payable

* Resolve issues and deficiencies when needed

* Manage record-keeping procedures, audit charts to ensure accuracy

* Monitor OR utilization to maximize efficiency and support case volume growth

* Collaborate with surgeons' offices to facilitate timely release of block times and identify opportunities to offer released time appropriately

* Report to and communicate with the Board of Managers/ Directors

* Coordinate preparations for the annual DOH inspections for acute care and life safety, manage the inspection and develop a plan of correction when necessary.

* Operate according to the recommended practices of AAAHC, revise policies and procedures, coordinate accreditation surveys, institute plan of correction

* Credential and recredential all medical and anesthesia staff.

* Recruit, onboard, and organize orientation for new staff.

* Conduct yearly staff evaluations and performance recommendations.

Skills and Requirements

* Degree in nursing

* Valid unencumbered PA nursing license and ACLS/BLS certification

* 5+ years of proven experience as Director of Nursing in a perioperative setting.

* In-depth knowledge of quality assurance/performance improvement activities.

* Understanding of basic budgeting and financial reporting.

* Knowledge of legal regulations and AORN best practices in healthcare.

* Maintain knowledge of changing standards in nursing administration.

* Excellent ability to lead and develop personnel.

* Exceptional written and verbal communication and people skills.

* Outstanding organizational and stress management skills.

* Aptitude in problem-solving. Master's degree in nursing or healthcare administration null
