Description

Fee Basis Primary Care Physician with Potential for Permanent Hire at Lancaster, CA VA Clinic

Primary Care Physicians play a critical role in the care of our Veterans; in some instances, for accessibility and timeliness of care the VA must obtain the services of non-VA providers. Greater Los Angeles VA has a rare opportunity to transition from Fee Basis to full-time permanent employment with our newest clinic coming on board Spring 2025.

As a fee basis provider responsibilities include but are not limited to providing comprehensive care from screening for mental health concerns such as PTSD, depression, and military sexual assault trauma to substance use/abuse; diagnosing primary care needs from acute to chronic illness to gender-specific care. Our Primary Care Physicians evaluate and treat uncomplicated mental health and substance use disorders, coordinate specialty care when needed, and provide preventative care for age-appropriate cancer screenings, weight management counseling, and immunization. In addition, they also analyze and synthesize data from multiple sources to establish a differential and working diagnosis. Locations available for fee basis work include West Los Angeles VA Medical Center | Sepulveda VA Clinic | Bakersfield VA Clinic.
