The Louis A Johnson Clarksburg VAMC is looking for a Neurologist to join our team. At the Clarksburg VA, our health care teams are deeply experienced and guided by the needs of Veterans, their families, and caregivers.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The Neurologist is expected to maintain current knowledge and skills. She or he must be able to deliver interventions throughout the full spectrum of neurological care, i.e., she or he is expected to maintain good diagnostic and therapeutic acumen.

Primary duties are to perform full general neurological examinations on established or newly consulted patients, including electronic consultations (e-Consults) in the Neurology clinics, inpatient wards or Emergency Department for signs or symptoms of neurologic dysfunction. The neurologist will ensure communication with the hospitalists regarding inpatients and/or potential admissions.

The neurologist will also interpret EEGs and Evoked Potential Studies as well as perform EMGs.

The neurologist performs telehealth functions using VA video connect and Clinical Video Telehealth. They will participate in the VA Tele-stroke program.

Responsibilities will include performing Compensation and Pension exams and/or reviews, participation in quality assurance programs and chart reviews and completing medical records in accordance with Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations.

The neurologist exercises corporate citizenship by serving as a leader and/or active member on Medical Center committees as requested and attending Medical Service Staff meetings and meetings of the medical staff.

Teaches effectively and creatively and provides guidance to others involved in the delivery of the educational program.

EDRP Authorized: This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of annual paid time offer per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA
Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification)

Contract: No Physician Employment Contract.

Excellent work schedule: Monday thru Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with potential for telework call, however, subject to change, depending upon the needs of the service/medical center
