We want everyone who works at CVS Health to feel empowered by the role they play in transforming our culture and accelerating our ability to innovate and deliver solutions to make health care more personal, convenient and affordable. *Position Summary* The Principal Architect is accountable for the business solution designs for key strategic initiatives including (but not limited to) developing architectures that represent business, applications/integration, data, infrastructure, platform, and security architectures. In this role you will act as the chief architect for a key strategic initiative (s) within PSS IT tower leveraging significant enterprise experience in architecture and hands-on delivery of solutions to achieve business outcomes.  This includes having the strong ability to look around the corner at emerging technologies and advise senior leadership around the strategic technical vision for the tower.  You will play a key role in furthering the modernization journey for Pharmacy Services Segment (PSS)  IT in alignment with the Enterprise IT strategy. *This position is open to multiple CVS locations to include remote. *Required Qualifications* * Best in class technical subject matter expertise and domain knowledge * SME level understanding of cloud design and architecture for one or more public cloud provider (Azure, AWS, GCP) to deliver large-scale distributed solutions across the full enterprise stack * SME level technical skills in the following areas: application and integration architecture, security and automation along with a working knowledge of IT operations * SME level understanding of APIs and microservices-based architecture is a must * Experience working with technologies that work as glue between modern apps and legacy infrastructure leveraging streaming platforms like Apache Kafka * Ability to collaborate with Digital, IT, EA, Ops and Security to deliver solutions * Experience in enterprise development tools and methodologies (XP, Agile) including DevSecOps and DataOps * Hands-on technologists with coding skills and proficient in modern technology stacks (Cloud, DevOps, Kafka etc.) * Understanding of both SQL and NoSQL database technologies * Demonstrable hands-on experience is a must * Facilitates adoption of cloud-native/cloud-first architectures. * Experience integrating with legacy mainframe/mid-range AS400 applications including developing roadmaps for modernization of the applications *Preferred Qualifications* Domain Driven Design expertise: * Map the domain scope to Bounded Contexts /Microservices * Conduct Event Storming to define Strategic Design * Define road map based on the  value realization Analyzing the domain using Event Storming: Perform Event Storming is done to identify domain events, commands, persona or entities to facilitate a structured conversation about the domain by Business and IT.  Leverage Event Storming helps to define the following design patterns:           Strategic Design: * Bounded Context * Ubiquitous Language * Context Mapping                                Tactical Design: * Aggregates * Entities and Value Objects * Aggregates * Domain Events and Services * Application Services *Education & * *Experience* * 10+ years in design/development experience * 5+ years of hands-on cloud implementation experience * Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field required * Masters Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred *Pay Range* The typical pay range for this role is: $144,200.00 - $288,400.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.    In addition to your compensation, enjoy the rewards of an organization that puts our heart into caring for our colleagues and our communities.  The Company offers a full range of medical, dental, and vision benefits.  Eligible employees may enroll in the Company's 401(k) retirement savings plan, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan is also available for eligible employees.  The Company provides a fully-paid term life insurance plan to eligible employees, and short-term and long term disability benefits.
