Job Description
The Application Development – Advisor will be responsible for the following:
Engage in development of solutions to multiple complex technical projects/initiatives. Design and solution business needs. Lead, provide technical guidance and review coding work of various team members. Undertake tasks such as technical resource assignment or advisement with the technical project owner, planning, designing and overseeing development efforts. Guide requirements discussions with IT and business partners. Collaborate with Project Managers, Quality Assurance and other IT teams throughout the SDLC process. Gather and review requirements, as well as development and testing documentation. Follow up on progress to date and manage projects to completion. Update leaders with progress or any potential roadblocks. Implement steps to prevent or reduce defects during development and ensure timely delivery of high quality products. Establish best coding principles and perform code reviews when necessary. Define architectural solutions that will be used by technicians, pharmacists and staff to process prescriptions and related activities. Ensure high performance. Design the architecture of software solutions using current state technologies. Act as a leading member of the project team from project inception to completion. Describe the structure, characteristics, behavior, and other aspects of software to project stakeholders. Define features, phases, and solution requirements. Create prototypes for development team members. Provide specifications to drive how the solution is defined, managed, and delivered. Deliver a complete application that will be used by technicians, pharmacists and staff to process prescriptions and related activities. Ensure high performance on desktop applications. Write, test, idiomatically program and document using Oracle PL/SQL and/or Oracle Forms.

Required Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, plus at least five (5) years of experience in Oracle 8 PL/SQL or higher and in Change Management and Solution Engineering or Solution Architecture. Must also have five (5) years of experience in the following: Root cause analysis of data sets and processes; Development of packages, procedures, and or materialized views for data extraction, transformation and loading; Performance tuning on SQL, PL/SQL programs; Development of user interfaces using Oracle Forms; Writing and debugging shell scripts; and Service integration with database architecture.
