Are you looking for a new opportunity to train as a Nursing Assistant (NAR) or a chance to share your NAR skills working as part of an essential team? Cuyuna Regional Medical Center is looking for a compassionate, empathetic, naturally positive individual to either join our hospital team as an NAR or join us to train for the role. Nursing Assistants provide the highest possible level of care and assistance patients need in their everyday life under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse. The ideal candidate demonstrates attention to detail and understands that our dedicated team places compassion for our patients at the center of what we do every day.
Qualifications:
- Capable of completing the free state approved hybrid OnTrack Nursing Assistant Training Program through 35 hours of online curriculum, 24 hours of hands-on skills training, and 16 hours of clinical experience (75 hours total) within four months (120 days) from the date of employment
OR
- Active certification with the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry or ability to prove successful completion of an approved nursing assistant training program and competency evaluation
- American Heart Association BLS certification required within 30 days of hire

- Works collaboratively within a team to deliver individualized patient-centered care
- Adapts to shifting environments and priorities when situations change
- Demonstrates clear and effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Previous hospital experienced (preferred)
Specific Responsibilities & Skills:
- Works closely with the healthcare team by assisting nurses in providing compassionate and detail-oriented patient care
- Assists residents with activities of daily living: dressing, grooming, bathing, meals, physical therapy, and mobility assistance
- Applies knowledge of infection prevention practices and proper procedures when providing care to patients
- Uses observation to recognize and report changes in patient condition to the licensed nurse, based on the NAR's scope of practice
- Maintains patient confidentiality
- Ensures physical environment is free of safety hazards and follows proper safety procedures throughout the workday
- Performs other duties based on role as needs arise
