Providing Expert Clinical Leadership to Hospital Pharmacies across the U.S.  - up to 100%  travel.  

Our Vice President, Clinical Services with CPS Solutions LLC, plays a pivotal role in driving strategic and operational excellence through the development and execution of innovative clinical and drug utilization management initiatives. This leader is accountable for identifying and implementing high-impact cost containment and quality improvement strategies that directly support organizational goals and enhance client value. With a strong focus on achieving Productivity Fee outcomes and articulating the financial value proposition to client accounts, the role is instrumental in positioning clinical services as a competitive differentiator. Additionally, this clinical leader ensures robust tracking mechanisms are in place to measure the effectiveness of clinical programs, while fostering a collaborative, matrixed relationship with regional operations teams. By serving as a trusted resource to assigned sites, this role strengthens regional performance and supports scalable, data-driven decision-making across the enterprise.

Responsibilities include:

  • Implement programs, improvements, and clinical and drug utilization management initiatives relevant to their practice sites that foster and promote pharmacy practice excellence.  Monitors implementation of initiatives (in part through the creation, execution, and tracking of clinical action plans) that ensures the integration of these initiatives into daily operations at CPS accounts. 
  • Develop clinical tracking tools and other appropriate means of measuring the business, operations, and clinical dimensions of value and impact of programs and services as well as a mechanism for tracking utilization and purchasing trends.  Identifies, monitors, and reports corresponding improvement measures to the SVP of Operations, DOPS, and/or EVP of Clinical Services.
  • Serves in a client-facing capacity demonstrating clinical value and messaging to hospital leadership.
  • Primary accountability for identification and implementation of cost containment strategies, achieving Productivity Fee results and defending the financial value proposition at client accounts.
  • Understands clinical impact and manages to a budget for each account.
  • Serves as a key resource and sets a high standard for pharmacy practice excellence to the sites within their region in conjunction with the regional management team (SVPs, Finance, HR).
  • Work collaboratively with the EVP of Clinical Services, and other departments as necessary to develop and review clinical consensus documents, drug utilization management initiatives, and other new field programs.
  • Develop and oversees clinical learning plan for staff. 
  • Maintains currency and competency in the literature of pharmacy practice and health care research and development.  Continually reviews the primary and secondary literature of clinical practice and operations outcomes analysis/assessment to identify applicable models/means of inclusion in company practice.
  • Carries out other duties as assigned by the EVP of Clinical Services that support the achievement of established strategic and operational goals.
  • Responsible for the clinical assessments and clinical process improvements at the site level.
  • Serves as a peer for reviewing development tools and documents.


Schedule: This full-time, exempt position works primarily Monday-Friday days with evenings and weekends as needed. Travel away from home location up to 100% of time.

Salary Range: $180 - $200k annually (based upon related work experience and qualifications) plus bonus eligibility.

Qualifications:

  • Pharm.D. or MS in Pharmacy degree and at least 2 years of post-graduate residency training
  • Certification by Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties  
  • Currently licensed as a Pharmacist, in good standing
  • Demonstrated recent clinical experience leading and motivating teams to review, develop, implement and monitor clinical programs, therapeutic initiatives and other drug use policies and practices
  • In depth knowledge of pathophysiology, interpretation of diagnostic criteria, pharmacokinetics and pharmacotherapeutics.
  • Proficient in assessing the use and application of new medications and medication technology, including complex equipment and delivery systems.  
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to participate effectively on interdisciplinary teams and committees.
  • Proficiency in the business of pharmacy and required analytics
  • Residence near a major airport
  • Ability to travel away from home location by car or air 100% of time
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
