Specialty Pharmacist - Per Diem
Marshall Medical Center
Cameron Park, CA 

As a per diem, nonexempt CPS Solutions LLC Specialty Pharmacist at Marshall Medical Center, the Specialty Pharmacist works within a Retail, Outpatient or Specialty Pharmacy and will supervise pharmacy technicians to prepare and dispense prescription medication and pharmaceutical products for patient care. The Pharmacist will monitor for accuracy of the prescription and will counsel patients on the appropriate use of medications. The Pharmacist will be responsible for the supervision of the Patient Management Program, clinical activities, and delivery of services as required. 

Schedule: This per diem, nonexempt position will work as needed.  

Pay Range: $65-$70/hour based on experience

About the Facility:  Marshall Medical Center is a nonprofit community healthcare provider located in the heart of the Sierra Foothills. Marshall Medical Center includes Marshall Hospital, a fully accredited acute care facility with 111 beds, located in Placerville; several outpatient facilities in Cameron Park, Placerville, El Dorado Hills, and Georgetown; primary and specialty care clinics; and a Level III Trauma Center. CPS Solutions LLC has partnered with the hospital to manage the day-to-day operations of this pharmacy. This position is an employee of CPS Solutions LLC.

About the Pharmacy:  Pharmacy hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm. The pharmacy utilizes CareTrend.    

Required Qualifications:

  • Pharmacy degree (BS or PharmD) from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy; PharmD preferred
  • Current Pharmacist license in good standing in CA
  • Successful completion of a Pharmacy Practice Residency program strongly preferred
  • Experience as a Pharmacist in a Hospital setting preferred
  • Ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond to client concerns
  • Demonstrated accuracy and timeliness in a work setting
  • Experience using computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and pharmacy information systems 
  • Effective communications skills; verbal and written

Specialized Knowledge/Skills:

  • Independence with regards to clinical discussions and evaluations
  • Ability to use pharmaceutical and medical references literature to provide drug information to health plans, patients, and prescribers
  • 2nd language spoken preferred
  • Management skills preferred

Hospital Requirements (may be required): 

  • (PPD) TB Skin Test - Proof of negative TB skin test within the last 12 months
  • (MMR) Measles, Mumps and Rubella or A Blood Titer proving immunity
  • Varicella - (2) documented doses or A Blood Titer proving
  • Hep B3 Series (or declination) 
  • (Flu) Influenza-required for hire between Oct 1st-April 30th 
  • COVID Vaccine
