Principal Business Intelligence Developer
CPS Solutions, LLC

The Principal Developer, Business Intelligence (BI) will lead BI development efforts from design through delivery across multiple products and teams to address the operational and financial challenges of CPS. This position will be responsible for architecting, designing, configuring, developing, testing and deploying complex business intelligence and analytics solutions and practices in support of business objectives.

Salary Range: $150,000-$160,000 depending on experience

Responsibilities:

  • In conjunction with our consulting team and CPS IT leadership, works to develop software solutions to meet client needs including problem definition, process requirements, proposed solutions, and ultimate solution development.
  • Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.
  • Prepares, tests, and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.
  • Improves operations by conducting systems analysis, recommending changes in policies and procedures, and identifying enhancements.
  • Updates job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Protects CPS and client businesses by keeping information confidential.
  • Provides information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues.
  • Accomplishes engineering and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Develops software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a computer science, related field or in lieu of, 8+ years of related experience
  • 6+ years of related business intelligence and release planning experience
  • Proven ability to lead design and development efforts across multiple data intelligence products and cross functional teams
  • Strong analytic and research skills related to working with structure and unstructured data patterns and real time and scheduled processes
  • Understanding of Business Analytics approaches including Descriptive, Predictive, and Prescriptive
  • Understand of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable ‘big data' data stores
  • Strong experience in Power BI analytics, data visualization and integration
  • Experience working in multiple Azure Cloud environments
  • Ability to assess team dynamics and improve performance
  • Demonstrated ability with Azure SQL, Azure Pipelines, SQL Server, Reporting Services, and Integration Services
  • Good knowledge in data table design, stored procedures, triggers, maintenance, optimization, indexing
  • Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle methodologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work in an Agile environment
  • Experience in health care, pharmaceuticals, or managed care a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Teams, Excel, Word, PPT, Outlook)
