Pharmacy Technician - Per Diem
Coast Plaza Doctor's Hospital 
Norwalk, CA

As a per diem, nonexempt CPS Solutions, LLC Pharmacy Technician, you will assist in various pharmacy activities under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Your responsibilities will include preparing, delivering, and restocking medications; performing order entry; procuring drugs; billing. You will carry out your job duties according to written procedures and guidelines based on pharmacy standards and regulatory requirements.

Schedule: This per diem, nonexempt position will work at least 4 hours/month and/or up to 19 hours/week to cover staff PTO and as needed during days, evenings, and/or weekends. 

Starting Pay: $23-$26/hour (based on related work experience) 

About the Facility: Coast Plaza Doctor's Hospital offers 117 licensed beds and a complete in-house range of both adult and pediatric Emergency Department Services.  Services are provided 24 hours per day to ensure that every patient receives the appropriate care quickly and efficiently. CPS Solutions, LLC has partnered with the hospital to manage the day-to-day operations of this pharmacy. This position is an employee of CPS Solutions, LLC.

About the Pharmacy: The pharmacy utilizes CPOE and ADC-Pyxis with Pyxis automation/software. Pharmacy hours are Monday – 7:00am-8:30pm; Tuesday-Friday – 7:30am-8:30pm; and Saturday & Sunday – 8:00am-4:30pm.  Remote pharmacy services are provided overnight and after these listed pharmacy hours.

Required Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Current California certified pharmacy technician license in good standing
  • Previous pharmacy technician experience in a hospital pharmacy setting preferred
  • IV and compounding experience preferred but not required
  • Proficient computer skills including experience using Microsoft Office
  • Effective communication skills; verbal and written
  • Demonstrated ability for self-motivation

Hospital Requirements:

  • (PPD) TB Skin Test - Proof of negative TB skin test within the last 12 months
  • (MMR) Measles, Mumps and Rubella or A Blood Titer proving immunity
  • Varicella - (2) documented doses or A Blood Titer proving immunity
  • (Flu) Influenza-required for hire between Oct 1st-March 31st
  • TDaP or Declination (hospital declination)
  • Physical 
  • Proof of completed Covid-19 vaccination or documentation noting the approved exemption
