Pharmacy Technician - Per Diem
Banner Lassen Medical Center
Susanville, CA

As a per diem, nonexempt CPS Solutions, LLC Pharmacy Technician at Banner Lassen Medical Center, you will assist in various pharmacy activities under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Your responsibilities will include preparing, delivering, and restocking medications; performing order entry; procuring drugs; billing; and sterile compounding. You will carry out your job duties according to written procedures and guidelines based on pharmacy standards and regulatory requirements.

Schedule: This per diem, nonexempt position will work 19 hours or less per week including each Monday as needed.

Pay Range: $22-$25/hour based on experience 

About the Facility: Banner Lassen Medical Center (BLMC) is a critical access 25 bed not-for-profit hospital located in Susanville, California, and operated by Banner Health.  BLMC provides 24/7 emergency care, general medical and surgical services, cancer care, ICU, maternal, diagnostic imaging, laboratory, and a number of other related services. BLMC offers an excellent opportunity to apply good pharmacy practice skills.  As part of one of the largest hospital groups in the Western United States, BLMC enjoys patient care resources and financial stability well above the norm. CPS Solutions, LLC has partnered with the hospital to manage the day to day operations of this pharmacy. This position is an employee of CPS Solutions, LLC.

About the Pharmacy:  Pharmacy hours are Monday-Saturday from 7:00am-3:30pm and Sunday, 7:00am-11:00am.  After hours is supported by Remote Order Entry. This centralized pharmacy utilizes Cerner and Pyxis automation, EMAR and BVM.  

Required Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Current California Pharmacy Technician license in good standing 
  • Pharmacy Technician certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Pharmacy experience, beyond the externship, in a hospital or retail pharmacy (hospital preferred) 
  • Must be proficient in math
  • Must have the ability to lift, bend and reach 
  • Sterile compounding experience preferred
  • Must be a quick learner and work effectively in a fast-paced pharmacy 
  • ​Self-motivated, team oriented, has a high degree of skill in multi-tasking, and performs to a high-quality standard
  • Proficient computer skills including experience using Microsoft Office
  • Effective communication skills; verbal and written

Hospital Requirements:

  • (PPD) TB Skin Test - Proof of negative TB skin test within the last 12 months
  • (MMR) Measles, Mumps and Rubella or A Blood Titer proving immunity
  • Varicella - (2) documented doses or A Blood Titer proving immunity
  • Tdap
  • Hep B (series or declination)
  • (Flu) Influenza-required for hire between Oct 1st-April 30th 
  • A Physical  
  • COVID Vaccine-Full
