PHARMACY TECHNICIAN - PER DIEM
COAST PLAZA HOSPITAL
Hours: This position will work as needed to cover PTO.
As a Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS) Pharmacy Technician you'll work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist and assist in various pharmacy activities related to preparing, dispensing, and distributing medications. Other duties include maintaining patient records, billing, and setting up, packaging, and labeling medication doses. You will perform your job duties within pharmacy standards, written procedures and guidelines as well as state and federal regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for the accurate completion of daily activities and the follow-through of tasks assigned to you.
About the Facility: Coast Plaza Hospital offers 117 licensed beds and a complete in-house range of both adult and pediatric Emergency Department Services. Services are provided 24 hours per day to ensure that every patient receives the appropriate care quickly and efficiently. Management of the inpatient and outpatient pharmacies is outsourced to Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS). All pharmacy staff are employees of CPS.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Certified pharmacy technician with a State of California license in good standing
- Previous pharmacy technician experience in a hospital pharmacy setting preferred
- Proficient computer skills including experience using Microsoft Office
- Effective communications skills; verbal and written
- Demonstrated ability for self-motivation
