PHARMACY TECHNICIAN - FULL TIME 7ON / 7OFF NIGHTS
CPS TELEPHARMACY
NAPERVILLE, IL

Hours: This position is scheduled Wednesday-Tuesday with shifts starting between 6pm-10pm and will be a mix of 10, 11, and 12 hour shifts equaling 40 hours per week.

As a Pharmacy Technician with Comprehensive Pharmacy Services and the CPS TELEpharmacy team, under the supervision of the Operations Manager, you will provide professional telephone assistance to our various contracted healthcare clients as a representative of our TELEpharmacy team. From this centralized, office setting in Naperville, IL, you will answer incoming calls from nursing and medical staff, as well as patients in a friendly, helpful and professional manner, all while establishing and fostering positive relationships. For calls that require additional resolution, you will prioritize and route the calls for triage. You will monitor client work orders as they come into our pharmacy system's queue for processing and process orders with minimal errors. In addition, you will work on other projects as assigned. Other tasks include:

  • Opportunity to work with a great team of individuals in a casual office environment that promotes team work.
  • Provides customer service and assists nursing staff and facilities with orders needing verification, questions and concerns, and time changes.
  • Communicates with pharmacists and supervisors regarding any facility questions or concerns, and helps ensure that these are being resolved.
  • Speaking with hospital staff to ensure that orders are entered/verified/timed correctly so RN's have access to meds when needed. I enjoy being the extra crutch that helps make their shift and the patient's stay more comfortable/convenient.
  • Communicates with pharmacists and supervisors regarding any facility questions or concerns, and helps ensure that these are being resolved.
  • May provide service to claims management company, helping with rejected claims, prior authorizations, and other miscellaneous member calls.
  • May involve typing prescriptions for patients who receive medications via mail order.
  • Performing overrides for retail pharmacy rejections.
  • Be able to work in an office environment as part of a team.

Required Qualifications:

  • The ability to become licensed as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Illinois.
  • The ability to obtain the PTCB Certification within one year of employment.
  • A demonstrated "customer first" attitude and excellent customer service skills.
  • Experience prioritizing, problem solving, and multitasking workload with ease.
  • Professional, polished and positive written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive relationships via telephone.
