Description

Intermediate Accountant

Clayton Homes, a Berkshire Hathaway company and the nation's leading housing provider, is a vertically integrated housing company that builds, sells, and insures affordable housing. The Retail Intermediate Accountant will complete general ledger accounting functions and reconciliations required for the Retail division. They serve as a primary accounting interface for Home Center locations as assigned.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists with all accounting related to the Retail Close schedule, monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes including financials, related financial analysis, and reporting
  • Involved in process improvements, various reconciliations, allocations, and accruals
  • Tracks costs and conducts variance analysis
  • Conducts expense reporting and account reconciliation
  • Maintain various accounting projects while continuing regular duties
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • 3-4 years' experience in Accounting or related field
  • Must have great communication skills as there is extensive communication with various levels of personnel and management
  • Must have excellent computer skills with specific proficiency in Excel and database management applications
  • Must be committed, detail-oriented, motivated, flexible, analytical, and resourceful
  • Must be a team player with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
