Clark College is currently accepting applications for a full-time, permanent classified Program Specialist 2 in Financial Aid. The work schedule Monday-Thursday on-campus, Friday remote. The hybrid schedule is subject to change based on the needs of the college.

Position Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Independently analyze financial aid applications and documentation for eligibility based on applicable federal, state, and institutional regulations. 
  • Evaluate applications and complete required processes for need analysis, verification, and awarding aid within established procedures. 
  • Make eligibility determinations for federal, state, and institutional aid programs within established procedures. 
  • Determine eligibility and award financial and based on policies and regulatory requirements while adhering to internal awarding polices and compliance regulations. 
  • Evaluate student data in multiple databases systems including institutional, federal, and state.  
  • Analyze data for consistency, make eligibility determinations, and adjust aid packages as needed. 
  • Manage Work-Study programmatic functions and operations required for federal and stated work-study programs including:
    • Performing reconciliation of accounts, 
    • Analysis of program expenditure and forecasting funding needs, 
    • Complete annual reporting, 
    • Manage job placements, 
    • Conduct outreach, 
    • Maintain written policies and procedures, 
    • Present work study information to students, faculty, and staff.
  • Provide direct student support through various formats including virtual, email, phone and in-person with excellent customer service skills focused on equity and advancing Clark College's goals for social justice and inclusion to provide access for our diverse community of learners.
  • Perform related duties as required.
  • Qualifications

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES:
    Candidates will be evaluated based on application materials, including the supplemental questions and personal interview(s), and will be required to demonstrate competencies in the following areas:

    • Associate degree.
    • One (1) year of financial aid experience, current experience with computer-based systems, and administration of federal and state aid regulations, or related experience. 
    • Fiscal/budgetary experience with the ability to reconcile accounts and forecast expenditures.

    • The initial appointment will include a 6-month probationary period and the employee will earn permanent status after successfully completing probation.

    SALARY/BENEFITS: 
    Salary Range: $3,643 - $4,865/month | Step A-M (commensurate with qualifications and experience) | Range: 42 | Code:  107I
    Successful candidates typically start at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases.
