Description
The Edmonton Police Service has an opportunity for a highly motivated team player with strong administrative support skills and a keen interest in labour relations. Working in a dynamic environment, with experienced labour relations practitioners, the Human Resources Assistant will provide technical and administrative support to a team of Human Resources Advisors. The successful candidate's responsibilities will include:
- Receive, review, and track all grievances, investigations, disciplinary correspondence
- Receive, review, and refer incoming inquiries and requests, including FOIP requests, investigations, requests for information, briefings and other general inquiries to Labour Relations
- Provide confidential administrative support and facilitate effective daily operations of the HR Support and Labour Relations Branch
- Provide administrative support to the Human Resources team
- Attend a variety of meetings to record notes, track and ensure resolution of sensitive labour relations action items
- Prepares employee correspondence for a variety of requests including leaves of absence and extra employment
- Coordinates step increases for unionized employees and annual management/professional merit increases
- Responsible for electronic and paper filing for the HRS and LR Branch
- Performing other related duties as required
- Support in a variety of Labour Relations initiatives
